About this artwork
Hand-drawn by IKOGAI artists
The carp (koi) is one of the most enduring symbols in Japanese culture. According to legend, a koi that swims upstream and leaps the waterfall at Dragon Gate transforms into a dragon. It is the emblem of strength earned through struggle, perseverance, and quiet ambition.
Carp Wisteria reinterprets a classic ukiyo-e composition by hand. Five koi circling through still water, wisteria branches cascading from above, iris leaves rising from below. Each fish drawn in its own coloring, the same way they were rendered in the original 19th-century print.
Hand-drawn in our studio in pale blue, white, and indigo, with red ink stamps.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long will this mousepad last me?
3-5 years with daily use. Our mousepads are built with a stitched edge that prevents fraying, a high-density cloth top that preserves the artwork, and a non-slip rubber base that stays planted on any surface. No peeling, no curling, no cheap glue lifting off.
Is this really hand-drawn?
Yes. Every original design in our collection is drawn by hand by IKOGAI artists. We never use AI-generated art. The process takes weeks per piece, and we document it so you can see the work behind each design.
How do I clean it?
Hand wash with cold water and mild soap is the safest option. Machine wash on a cold cycle works too. Always air dry flat. Never tumble dry, never iron.
How long will shipping take, and are there any hidden costs?
We offer multiple international shipping options ranging from 4 to 14 days. No hidden costs at checkout.
Orders are usually dispatched the next working day.
