Common Questions
Everything you need
to know
TKL stands for tenkeyless. It is a full-size keyboard without the number pad on the right. You keep the full function row, all navigation keys (Insert, Delete, Home, End, Page Up, Page Down), and the arrow cluster. You lose the numpad. The NUT87 has 87 keys total, which is the standard count for a TKL layout.
Yes. Tri-mode: USB-C wired, 2.4GHz wireless at 8000Hz polling, and Bluetooth. The 10,000mAh battery is one of the largest shipped in any wireless keyboard, providing weeks of use between charges. For gaming, 2.4GHz mode at 8000Hz gives the lowest latency.
Yes. The PCB is hot-swap, supporting any MX-style 3-pin or 5-pin switch. The NUT87 ships with HMX switches pre-installed. You can pull them out and replace them without soldering.
The NUT87 has RGB light bars on the sides of the case that react to music and keystrokes. They are separate from per-key RGB backlighting and add ambient lighting when the keyboard is in use. Both can be configured independently.
At 2.08kg it is significantly heavier than plastic keyboards. This is a consequence of the CNC 6063 aluminium case, which is machined from a solid billet rather than injection moulded. The weight makes it stable on the desk during fast typing or gaming and gives it a premium feel that is hard to replicate in lighter materials.
PBT double-shot keycaps in Cherry profile. The legends are moulded in as a second layer of plastic rather than printed on, so they will not wear off. PBT is more resistant to shine and grease than the ABS used on most budget keyboards.
