About this artwork
Redrawn from Kuniyoshi, 1844
In 1844, Utagawa Kuniyoshi painted this scene across three woodblock panels. It tells the legend of Princess Takiyasha, daughter of a defeated warlord, living alone in her father's ruined palace after his rebellion against the emperor was crushed.
When the emperor's official Mitsukuni came to hunt down the last of her father's allies, Takiyasha read a spell from a scroll and summoned a giant skeleton from the darkness. Mitsukuni did not flinch. He stood his ground.
We drew every line of it again by hand to bring the original back to high definition.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long will this mousepad last me?
3-5 years with daily use. Our mousepads are built with a stitched edge that prevents fraying, a high-density cloth top that preserves the artwork, and a non-slip rubber base that stays planted on any surface. No peeling, no curling, no cheap glue lifting off.
Is this really hand-drawn?
Yes. Every original design in our collection is drawn by hand by IKOGAI artists. We never use AI-generated art. The process takes weeks per piece, and we document it so you can see the work behind each design.
How do I clean it?
Hand wash with cold water and mild soap is the safest option. Machine wash on a cold cycle works too. Always air dry flat. Never tumble dry, never iron.
How long will shipping take, and are there any hidden costs?
We offer multiple international shipping options ranging from 4 to 14 days. No hidden costs at checkout.
Orders are usually dispatched the next working day.
